Maureen Denise McCormick, youngest daughter and sole child from Richard McCormick as well as Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills on 5 August 1956. Her parents were her mother, who was an housewife, and a father who was a teacher. Michael, Dennis, and Kevin are her three older brothers. McCormick started dancing and singing from a young age, and frequently performed show-like puppets in front of the kids in her neighbourhood. Her fairytale rise to fame started when she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the year 6years old, which resulted in being contacted by Talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency, who asked if she would like to enter the show business. McCormick's first big job was in 1964, when she starred in an advertisement for Mattel's new doll "Baby Pattaburp." In the same year, she appeared in a commercial for"the "Chatty Catherine" doll, and she was then cast to perform the show, Wind It up And It Breaks. McCormick played the youngest of three girls, with two heads in the TV sitcom The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson was the main character, and Robert Reed was the father. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick disclosed in the book Here's the tale of her life: How I Survived Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that it was during her fifth-season of the TV show that she nearly lost her the virginity she had fought for. The time was when she was 16 and he was 19. This could have happened according to her. "But the timing for us was never just right."
